The Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, within the framework of the regional project "Systemic measures for the development of international cooperation and exports" of the national project "International Cooperation and Export", introduced the Regional Export Standard 2.0 in 2023. As a result of the work in 2023, 209 small and medium–sized businesses were provided with the Center's services, 4 SMEs were placed on international electronic trading platforms, 18 export contracts worth 6.55 million US dollars were concluded," Svetlana Panfilova said.
 
As part of the development of the personnel training system in the field of foreign economic activity, work is underway with universities in the region. Thus, in 2022, at the initiative of the Ministry, Murmansk Arctic University began training specialists in the field of Economics (profile Foreign Economic activity), and in 2023 an agreement was signed with the university on the organization of introductory practices for students in the Ministry and subordinate organizations.  
 
"The region is also actively conducting training on acceleration programs for export development. So, starting in 2022, SMEs will be trained under the Export Fast and Furious acceleration program. In 2022-2023, 24 SMEs of the region were trained," said the head of the Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region.
 
In the Murmansk Region, measures are being actively carried out to expand the region's business ties with potential foreign counterparties. In 2023, small and medium-sized businesses participated in five international exhibitions in Russia, Azerbaijan, Brazil and China, and reverse business missions were conducted from Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and China to the Murmansk Region.

"Active information work is underway with existing and potential exporters of the Murmansk region. Cooperation with trade missions of the Russian Federation in 20 countries has been built," Svetlana Panfilova said.
 
To promote the export activities of small and medium-sized businesses in the region, the regional stage of the Exporter of the Year competition is held annually. 11 enterprises became winners and prize-winners of the 2024 competition."The plans for 2024 include confirmation of the implementation of the Regional Export Standard 2.0, for which it is necessary to continue active work on all tools," the minister concluded.
