The government has simplified the passage of checks at checkpoints in the Arctic zone

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree that will assign the customs authorities the authority to conduct inspections at checkpoints in the Arctic zone of Russia (AZRF). The document is published on the portal of the Russian Government.

According to the decree, the customs will be able to carry out sanitary-quarantine, veterinary and phytosanitary checks. Previously, these functions were performed by Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor. This decision will speed up the passage of goods and transport through the checkpoints in the Russian Arctic. This measure was previously tested in the free port of Vladivostok and proved its effectiveness.

The decision will take effect in 180 days. During this time, customs officers will receive the necessary training, and checkpoints will be equipped with special equipment.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved a new solution that will reduce the costs of entrepreneurs in the Arctic, make doing business more comfortable.

The head of the government simplified the passage of checks at checkpoints in the Arctic zone. The control of goods and transport will go faster thanks to the consolidation of the powers of the customs authorities to carry out various types of control (sanitary-quarantine, veterinary and phytosanitary), which Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor are currently engaged in. The mechanism has already been tested in the free port of Vladivostok and has proven its effectiveness.
