Results of business support in 2023 and plans for 2024

As part of the operational meeting, the regional government discussed the results of supporting entrepreneurs in 2023 and plans for 2024. In 2023, the number of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs increased by 4.3% and reached almost 26 thousand units. This was told by the governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis.

"According to data for 11 months of last year, the number of self-employed Northerners increased by more than 43%, reaching 27 thousand people. I thank the residents of the region for taking a responsible approach to the organization of their business and registering in the system," the head of the region stressed. 

Along with the growing number of business entities, the volume of tax deductions in the Murmansk region is also increasing. 

"Also, in 11 months of 2023, the budget received 14% more funds as a result of the application of the simplified taxation system and deductions from the professional income tax increased 1.5 times. In total, we have allocated more than 300 million rubles to support small and medium-sized businesses in 2023. Tax rates under the simplified taxation system have been extended until 2025," Andrei Chibis said. 

In total, 51 measures to support small and medium-sized businesses are in effect in the Murmansk region. In 2023, in all directions, various support was provided to citizens who want to do business, entrepreneurs and the self-employed about 3.3 thousand times.

Svetlana Panfilova, Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, spoke in more detail about various measures to support small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
