Students of construction teams were presented with the investment potential of the Murmansk region

On the basis of the Regional Management Center, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region Olga Kuznetsova met with students of the construction teams of the National Research University "Moscow State University of Civil Engineering" and the Moscow Energy Institute.

This summer, for two months, the guys have been working on the implementation site of one of the key investment projects – the Lavna coal transshipment complex under the guidance of experienced mentors and are acquiring skills in professional labor and management activities.

During the meeting, the Vice-governor spoke about the strategic importance of the region, ongoing investment and social projects, measures to support young personnel, introduced key enterprises of the Murmansk region, and also spoke about the work of the "Course to the North" program.

"The main task within the framework of the governor's plan "To live in the North" is to attract residents to our region. This task consists of two parts. The first is, of course, the development of the economy, in order to create new projects and jobs that would meet modern technological standards, where specialists will have the opportunity to realize their potential. The second is the development of the quality of life in the North. All these tasks are being solved within the framework of new projects that are included in the master plans for the development of agglomerations in the Murmansk region. The task of our economic block is the formation of new investment projects and growth points. I would like to thank all the participants of our meeting and wish you good luck in any of the areas that you like. You have a lot of opportunities ahead, go ahead," the Deputy governor stressed.

During the conversation, the students talked about the activities of construction teams, asked questions about infrastructure solutions for the development of the urban environment, support for indigenous peoples of the North, the impact on the environmental situation of industrial companies and others.

"We worked a lot, for example, participated in the construction of Rosatom facilities, but we went to the Murmansk region for the first time because we were interested in the construction site. The Lavna port is a large facility, and we decided to come here as soon as we were called. Some work on the line, they are mostly either technicians or specialists. I'm a specialist, I drive around the city, get structures and bring them to the warehouse," said Vladislav Pushkarev, a student at Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

During the conversation, the guys were especially interested in the nuances of the work of the "Course to the North" program, launched in 2023, to attract promising personnel to the region. During the year and a half of the project's existence, 207 specialists moved to our region. In order to dispel possible fears, teacher Anastasia Starikova, one of the first participants of the "Course to the North", as well as engineers of the Kola NPP Dmitry Roppert and Anna Jacobi, who came to live in the city of Polar Dawns from Altai this year, shared her personal experience of moving to the Murmansk region with students.

"They say that the North is the homeland of the brave. But I believe that the North is open to all daredevils who are ready for change. Therefore, do not be afraid of anything," Anastasia Starikova advised the guys.
