Tax incentives for small and medium-sized businesses are being expanded in the Murmansk Region

At an operational meeting in the regional government, the head of the region, Andrei Chibis, announced a significant expansion of the list of preferential categories of taxpayers applying the simplified taxation system. The decision will enter into force on January 1, 2026. The governor stressed that under the current benefit, entrepreneurs will be able to pay tax at a rate of 1% for the "income" facility and 5% for the "income minus expenses" facility. Three new business categories will be eligible for it.

The first category is combat veterans. The regional law already provides for benefits for participants in a special military operation.

"Veterans of Afghanistan and Syria have repeatedly made proposals to provide business development benefits at meetings, and I consider it important to support their initiative. Today, there are about 290 small and medium-sized businesses in the Murmansk Region, created by combat veterans. Supporting their business activities is our priority. Both from the point of view of business development, and from the point of view of social support for our defenders and their family members," commented Andrey Chibis.

Small technology companies are included in the preferential category. Their inclusion in the benefits system will contribute to the technological and innovative development of the region. This is an additional incentive in addition to federal support measures.

Individual entrepreneurs and legal entities who have registered in the region for the first time will be able to receive the benefit. It will be valid for two years from the date of registration.

"This will significantly reduce the tax burden at the initial stage of business, when the foundation of the business is being laid," the head of the region summed up.
