The competition policy Committee of the Murmansk region will evaluate the regions municipalities on the level of competition promotion

According to the results of 2020, the competition policy Committee of the Murmansk region will form a rating of municipalities in terms of promoting competition and providing conditions for a favorable investment climate. Its results will be included in the annual report on the state and development of competition in the region's commodity markets.

The rating methodology was approved by the decree of the government of the Murmansk region No. 539-PP dated 28.07.2020. Such indicators as the existence of a "road map" for the development of competition in the municipality, training activities and work to reduce the number of violations of antitrust legislation, an increase in the share of purchases from small businesses and socially oriented non-profit organizations, and the number of investment projects implemented in the municipality are also taken into account when making assessments. Such events contribute to the development of competition in the interests of consumers of goods, works and services, the formation of conditions for the development of support and protection of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the elimination of administrative barriers on the territory of municipalities.

At the end of 2019, the winners in their categories were Monchegorsk with its subordinate territory, Pechengsky district, BUT the city of Insular.
