The delegation of St. Petersburg arrived in Murmansk on a business mission

A business delegation from St. Petersburg is working in Murmansk from June 26 to 29. The main purpose of business events is to strengthen cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two regions.

Representatives of enterprises and organizations of the northern capital with Arctic competencies in various fields of activity arrived in the capital of the Kola Arctic. Among them are innovative underwater technologies, marine robotic complexes, electronic equipment and navigation equipment for ships, production and maintenance of all–terrain vehicles, safety equipment, the introduction of polyurethanes, waterproofing and the installation of industrial coatings.

The program of events of the business mission was opened by a round table on economic cooperation between enterprises of St. Petersburg and the Murmansk region, in which business representatives of the two regions spoke about projects possible for joint implementation.

"In just five months of 2023, the organizations of the northern capital and the Murmansk region signed 435 contracts worth 2.4 billion rubles, and we see reserves for further development of relations. I am sure that our business mission will contribute to the conclusion of new agreements, strengthening cooperation between specific enterprises and organizations of Murmansk and St. Petersburg," First Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs Elena Aseeva welcomed the participants of the meeting.

"Thanks to a unique set of preferential regimes, we can offer unprecedented support for the implementation of both large strategically important projects and small business initiatives. In the course of hard work on positioning the territory and creating special conditions, we have ensured that our investors successfully implement the largest investment projects of global importance. All this will contribute to the development of our cooperative ties," Dmitry Titarenko, Acting Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, said in his greeting.

Artem Kuksa, Acting Director General of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, spoke in detail about the mechanisms by which entrepreneurs can implement their projects in the Murmansk Region.

In total, representatives of more than thirty enterprises and organizations from St. Petersburg and the Murmansk region gathered at the round table.

"Four goals ago, at the end of 2019, the government of the Murmansk region made a decision to create a territory of advanced development in the region "Capital of the Arctic", and six months later the regime was created. At the same time, intensive work was underway to develop a law on business support, which was signed by President Vladimir Putin and entered into force in August. As a result, these tools with all the possibilities of the Arctic have created a platform that is now attractive for investment. Separately, I would like to note the proactive position of the government of the Murmansk Region, which has introduced additional business support in terms of operating small and medium–sized enterprises," said Artem Kuksa.

In addition, within the framework of the business mission, B2B meetings of representatives of St. Petersburg business with the heads of Murmansk enterprises will take place. The participants will clearly get acquainted with the work of JSC Murmansk Commercial Sea Port, FSUE Atomflot, JSC Arctic Marine Exploration Expedition, LLC Ecoservice Group of Companies and other large industrial enterprises of the region.
