Murmansk Region Development Corporation conducts lessons on investment potential for the youth of the region

Employees of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation conducted the first lessons "Live, study, work in the North!" for schoolchildren from Kirovsk, Polar Dawns and BUT Alexandrovsk – wards of the Center for Civic and Patriotic Education "In the North – live!".

During the lessons in the framework of classes on the history of their native land, the children were told about what attracts the Murmansk region: why more and more young specialists and tourists come to the Arctic, and large companies implement their ambitious projects here. Also, in the quiz format, the children learned about promising industries that are developing in the region.

It is planned that during the summer holidays such lessons will be held for at least 200 children of the Murmansk region.

"For teenagers of grades 8-9, information about what projects are being implemented in the region is extremely important, because all these are potential jobs. And it is at this age that young people begin to think for the first time about who they want to become. It is important to show them what opportunities exist and will appear in the next five to ten years. Our guys have an advantage – they can realize their potential in their native land," said Artem Kuksa, Acting Director General of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation.

Third-year students of the Murmansk Arctic University, who are undergoing an internship at the regional Development Corporation this summer, help to conduct lessons. In the future, it is planned that lessons will be held on an ongoing basis in order to motivate children to live, study and work in the North.

"We are trying to do everything to make the acquaintance of our students with the history, culture, natural resources of the Arctic and its industrial achievements as interesting as possible within the framework of the "Small Motherland" classes. Now representatives of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation are helping us with this," said the director of the Center for Civic and Patriotic Education "In the North – to live!" Valentin Yurchenko.
