The expert group of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus has completed its work in the Murmansk region

An expert group of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus has completed its work in the Murmansk Region. It should be recalled that during the introductory meeting it was noted that cooperation with the Republic of Belarus is extremely important for the region. The transport and logistics potential of the Murmansk region is able to solve the strategic tasks of the Republic of Belarus on the organization of reliable year-round transport corridors for the delivery of its products to international markets.  

  
"During the visit, my colleagues will introduce you to all the possibilities of the port of Murmansk. You will visit a number of port terminals, as well as promising sites for the construction of new facilities. We hope that this visit will finally form your understanding of the opportunities provided by the port of Murmansk and help you make strategic decisions on cooperation with the Murmansk Region," Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region Olga Kuznetsova told the Belarusian side.  


Within the framework of the three-day visit, the expert group held a number of working meetings with representatives of the administration of seaports of the Western Arctic, the Oktyabrskaya Railway. During the discussions, promising sites for the creation of port infrastructure, features of navigation in the waters of the port of Murmansk, as well as the possibilities of the Oktyabrskaya Railway for the delivery of Belarusian goods and cargo, taking into account the comprehensive development of the Murmansk transport hub and increasing the carrying capacity of the railway, were considered. The experts received comprehensive information necessary for further development of the project for all their questions.  
  
Also, as part of the work of the expert group, several port terminals of the port of Murmansk were inspected for a more detailed acquaintance with the possibilities for transshipment of various cargo nomenclature, as well as locations promising for the construction of a new port infrastructure.  

  
"The port of Murmansk undoubtedly has a huge potential for further development, and the Republic of Belarus has serious intentions to cooperate with the Murmansk region.  In general, we have received a large amount of information for further evaluation and analysis, and also planned further steps to implement joint projects," concluded Natalia Alexandrovich, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus.
