The exporters of the Murmansk region were told about the specifics of doing business in Indonesia

On January 23, 2024, an online event "Hour with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation" was held, organized by the Export Support Center of the Murmansk Region together with the Export Support Center of the Arkhangelsk Region with the assistance of the Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region.

The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia, Alexander Svinin, told representatives of small and medium-sized businesses about the specifics of doing business in Indonesia and the prospects for cooperation with Indonesian companies.


"Indonesia ranks fourth in the world in terms of population and 16th in terms of GDP in the world," Alexander Svinin told the participants of the online meeting.


The Trade Representative drew the attention of the participants to the fact that the Republic of Indonesia is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which has a capacious consumer market with a population of more than 660 million people.


Among the advantages of working in the market of ASEAN member countries, the Trade Representative called the stability of the economy, which has been showing steady growth for the past ten years and is striving to become the fourth economy in the world by 2030.

Special attention was paid to the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism, opening a business in Indonesia and opportunities for exporting fish products and seafood.

In particular, polar entrepreneurs were interested in logistics, namely the possibility of direct flights to Indonesia for the purpose of prompt delivery of perishable products.

The trade representative answered all the questions received and expressed readiness to provide information support to exporters in each specific case.

The Export Support Center of the Murmansk Region, with the assistance of the Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, plans to hold such events on a monthly basis.
