The Government of the Russian Federation discussed the roadmap of the project for the integrated development of MTU

Governor Andrey Chibis took part in the meeting under the leadership of the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov. The main issue on the agenda is the implementation of a project for the integrated development of the Murmansk transport hub, which is strategically important not only for the development of the region, but also for the Arctic zone as a whole.

"First of all, I want to thank you for the support of an object that is strategically important for our entire country. The funds allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation for the development of the Murmansk transport hub will contribute to the emergence of more than 1,800 new jobs, and the transshipment of the port of Murmansk will increase by 18 million tons per year," the head of the region said.

The Governor noted that new investment projects, including the Lavna seaport under construction, are located on the western shore of the Kola Bay.

"As part of additional infrastructure support, the reconstruction of the water supply system is underway. We also received 4.2 billion rubles from the Ministry of Regional Development for energy supply. This is necessary for both existing and new projects. I would like to note that taking into account high-quality and reliable water and electricity supply, the Western shore of the Kola Bay opens up completely new prospects," the governor stressed.

In conclusion, the head of the region said that the regional government is working out new projects with investors "Rusatom Cargo", "Sea terminal Tuloma". A significant contribution to the development of new directions was made by the construction of a railway line to the western shore of the Kola Bay. This will provide a cargo base for the Northern Sea Route.
