A number of support measures are in place for industrial enterprises of the Murmansk region, thanks to which the investment climate of the region is one of the most advanced in the country. This was announced today by Governor Andrey Chibis at an operational meeting in the government of the Murmansk region.
The head of the region stressed that in order for new projects to appear and existing ones to develop, two unique preferential regimes operate in the Murmansk Region – the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the TOP "Capital of the Arctic", as well as reduced taxes, which are established by regional legislation for small and medium-sized businesses.
The share of industrial production in the gross regional product of the Murmansk region is over 47%, more than 61 thousand people work in the industrial sector.
"Today our investment climate is one of the most advanced and attractive in the country. We have started new major projects. Thus, the Murmansk transport hub is under active construction, which will increase the volume of transshipment in the non-freezing waters of the Kola Bay, a project for the extraction and processing of lithium is also under implementation, tight work is underway with Gazprom on the issue of gasification of our region. And, of course, we provide regional support measures for our city–forming enterprises so that they can modernize their production," Andrei Chibis stressed.
Recall that last week a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council was held under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of the country's industry in the face of sanctions pressure. Within the framework of the meeting, medium- and long-term measures were developed for the growth and stable development of the country's industrial sector.
