In the Tersk district, the construction of a workshop for processing water bioresources continues. The progress of the work during the working trip to Umba was monitored by the Deputy Governor of the Murmansk region Dmitry Filippov.

The fish processing plant "Terskiy Bereg" is a new investment project, the founders of which are JSC "Murmansk Region Development Corporation" and private partners. The planned commissioning period is the first quarter of 2021. The company will be able to process water bioresources extracted in the coastal zone of the White Sea. The total production capacity will be 130 tons of finished products per year. It is planned to produce spiced salted herring in individual packaging, frozen herring in briquettes and chilled, frozen pink salmon.

As Dmitry Filippov noted, as a result of the implementation of the investment project, historical users of the fishing industry of the Tersk district, participating in the shared ownership of the object, will have the opportunity to participate in the competition for the provision of fishing areas in 2021.

"Thus, remain an employment area and will create seven new jobs, increase the volume of introduced capacities, volumes of production, processing and production of the fisheries industry with high added value," – said Vice-Governor
