The project for the construction of the Kola wind farm is in the active stage of implementation, General Director of PJSC Enel Russia Stefan Zvegintsov said during a working meeting with the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis.
The head of the region noted the high importance of the project for the Kola Arctic.
"The project is high-tech, and it is certainly very interesting for our region. We are interested in everything being done in a timely manner and the world's northernmost wind farm operating at full capacity, " said Andrey Chibis.
According to Stefan Zvegintsov, construction in the Kola district is in full swing.
"We went to the site and made sure that the work is in full swing. 17 foundations out of 57 have already been built. A very large percentage of the internal works have been carried out, 33 supports have already been erected, and the following ones are being built. And a very significant event for us-literally next week, on Tuesday-Wednesday, will be the delivery of the main network transformer by road. This is such a large-sized equipment that we will transport at night to minimize the impact on the necessary movements of residents of the city and the region, " the head of the company said.
Stefan Zvegintsov stressed that the pace of construction can be maintained thanks to the full support of the project from the government and the Governor of the Murmansk region. In particular, a great help for "Enel Russia" has become the help of regional authorities to promptly solve the problems with destroyed by a spring flood the year 2020 bridge over the river Canenter. Thanks to the prompt tender for the work, the construction of the temporary bridge started on January 9.
Already in the coming spring, in March-April, large – sized elements of wind turbines-gondolas, towers and blades-will be delivered to the Murmansk region.
For your reference:
In June 2017, PJSC Enel Russia, based on the results of a tender for investment projects for the construction of generating facilities operating on the basis of renewable energy sources, received the right to build a wind generation facility with an installed capacity of 200.97 MW in the Murmansk Region.
The wind farm to be created will have the following characteristics:
number of wind power plants – 57 units;
installed capacity-200.97 MW;
the annual volume of electricity generated is 760 GWh;
annual reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere ~ 600 kt.
