Governor Andrey Chibis, as part of the presentation of the new strategic plan "To live in the North", presented projects for the development of the Murmansk region for 5 years. Among the priorities is the creation of a single window to support initiatives and projects in the Murmansk Region, which will be implemented on the basis of the Grant Support Center.
"An important topic concerning all initiatives, both economic and social, we will create a single Governor's grant center so that anyone who wishes can apply there. First of all, it will help to structure support measures so that people who have interesting ideas and projects do not have to go to different departments," Andrei Chibis stressed.
The Governor noted that support for initiatives and business projects of Northerners will be formed primarily in priority areas: the development of public catering facilities with children's areas, social service centers, coworking and creative spaces, infrastructure for tourist accommodation and water tourism, centers for the provision of household services, roadside infrastructure, socially oriented business, in particular in particular, educational spaces and activities for children, baths, medical test points.
"We have to focus, concentrate and support what we particularly need today. Another important topic is medium–sized businesses. We are actively developing small businesses and actively structuring large projects. We have a huge growth area for the medium–sized business segment in Murmansk, and we actively plan to stimulate them as well," the head of the region said.
Despite the economic challenges of recent years, the small and medium-sized business sector is adapting to new conditions and showing positive dynamics. By the end of 2023, the number of people employed in the SME sector in the region was 1.5 times higher than in 2019. There are 51 measures of support for entrepreneurs. Over five years, tax revenues from the SME sector amounted to almost 9.8 billion rubles. Thanks to the implementation of projects within the framework of the new strategy "In the North – to live", the planned income growth of SMEs by 2030 will be about 25%.
