Elena Diaghileva, a representative of the Murmansk Region in the Federation Council, took part in the launching ceremony of the new krabolov.

A solemn ceremony of launching the Russian Crab crab was held at the Oka shipyard in Navashino, Nizhny Novgorod region. Elena Diaghileva, the representative of the Kola Arctic in the Federation Council, congratulated the crew and employees of the shipyard on an important event, emphasizing that Kapitan Zhitnikov meets the high standards of safety of navigation and modern shipbuilding. In her welcoming speech, the parliamentarian emphasized that the development of the fisheries industry is at the center of the Federation Council's attention.

"It is a great honor for me to personally congratulate the ship's crew and shipyard employees on a significant event. The priority of the senators' work, especially in coastal regions, where they know firsthand how important it is to update the fleet in a timely manner, is the topic of shipbuilding and ship repair. It is a special pride to see how modern vessels are being launched at Russian shipyards!" said Elena Diaghileva.

The Kapitan Zhitnikov is the eighth of the crab boats that are being built at Russian shipyards for a company engaged in fishing, including in the Barents Sea. The vessels of the series have a two-level hold with 32 independent tanks for storing and transporting live products. The control of temperature, salinity and oxygen content in the water make it possible to ensure the safety of a live crab at the maximum level. Russian Crab Group plans to build 19 modern crab vessels in fulfillment of its obligations under the investment quota program. Elena Diaghileva noted the importance of consolidating the federal center, regions and businesses for the development of fisheries, citing the Murmansk Region as an example. She stressed that issues relevant to the industry are being discussed in detail with the fishing community at meetings of the Territorial Fisheries Council chaired by Governor Andrey Chibis. According to the senator, such a "reconciliation of hours" allows the Arctic to maintain the sustainability of the industry's development even in the face of sanctions pressure, including fleet upgrades.

"As part of the investment quota program, polar companies are building modern fishing vessels at domestic shipyards, including powerful processor trawlers, and new crab boats have been commissioned. Our common goal is to help the fishermen survive despite all the challenges. And this topic is under the personal control of the head of the Arctic Andrey Chibis," the senator explained.
