A working meeting was held in Moscow between Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region. The parties discussed the socio-economic development of the region, the progress of gasification within the framework of the five-year program for the period 2026-2030, and increasing labor productivity in the economic sectors of the Murmansk region.
"The reliability of heat and electricity supply is a priority issue for us. Therefore, the prospects for gasification, increasing the reliability of the region's electric grid complex and the stable operation of boiler houses remain an absolute priority. Our task is not just to upgrade the infrastructure, but to provide stable heat and electricity to the Northerners," the governor said at the end.
Recall that at the International Arctic Forum 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian government to strictly comply with the gasification plan for the Murmansk Region until 2030. Last October, the first five–year program for the development of gas supply and gasification in the region was signed for 2026-2030.
In addition, it was previously reported that the management of ROSSETI North-West and the regional government will form a plan for additional measures to modernize the power grid infrastructure through the company's investments.
