Online forums for entrepreneurs and teachers are planned in the spring of 2021 as part of cross-border cooperation, an online meeting of representatives of three border municipalities-Pechenga district, Inari communes (Finland) and Ser-Varanger (Norway) – took place yesterday. Its participants were the Minister of Economic Development of the Murmansk Region Tatyana Russkova, Consul General of the Kingdom of Norway in Moscow. In Murmansk, Astrid Nerum, and the Coordinator for Culture and Media of the Murmansk branch of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg, Maju Okkonen, as well as representatives of municipal authorities.
The event was organized by the administration of the Pechenga district with the support of the Center for Social Projects "Second School".
The main goal of the meeting was to find new solutions for cooperation in the context of the pandemic, associated restrictions and closed borders, including in the field of tourism and entrepreneurship.
Vladimir Chizhov, Deputy Director of the Second School Center, made a proposal to organize a trilateral online forum for representatives of the business communities of municipalities and entrepreneurs-winners of the competition of interest-free loans of Norilsk Nickel. Details are still to be worked out, but it is already known that the business meeting is scheduled for March 2021.
Another interesting event may be a seminar among employees of the education sector of the municipalities of the three countries. it is also planned for spring, the participants will discuss distance learning, existing experience and achievements of colleagues from different countries.

The first cooperation agreement between nickel and kirkenes was signed in 1972, and since 1993 the commune of inari has joined this cooperation. since then, the border municipalities have held annual meetings and implemented a number of joint projects.
