The government of the Murmansk region and JSC NOVATEK have signed the cooperation agreement

On 27 may, the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis and Chairman of the Board of PJSC "NOVATEK" Leonid Mikhelson signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of socio-economic development of the Murmansk region. The ceremony was held in videoconference mode.
The document establishes the intention of the parties to work together in the implementation of important projects in the Arctic – primarily in the interests of the residents. The agreement covers many aspects of life – health, education, development of social and medical infrastructure, as well as support of mass sports, culture and art. Cooperation in particular contributes to the creation of a favorable investment climate and attraction of investments to the territory of the Murmansk region.

"The cooperation agreement that we signed today is 6 billion 100 million rubles of investment in the social sector for the next 10 years. Two key focus is the development of education and sports, and, above all, preparation of specialists for the Arctic. We plan to restart our Murmansk state technical University. Only this year the company "NOVATEK" reinvestiruet 400 million rubles for the development of these directions", – said the Governor.

The head of the region added that after the completion of the construction phase of the Playground "NOVATEK" will open a large niche for regular and high-paying high-tech jobs.

"It is crucial that our education system is allowed to train specialists of the gas industry. But this is another level of technology and lifestyle. And our guys now have a unique opportunity to obtain highly sought after profession and go to work in strong international company", – said Andrei Chibis.

As noted by the Chairman of the Board of PJSC "NOVATEK" Leonid Mikhelson, the company has created one of the largest enterprises of the Murmansk region Centre of the construction of large buildings, while investing not only in the future of the gas industry in Russia and the creation of new technologies, but also pays special attention to development of regions of presence. Creates new jobs, increases quality of infrastructure and implements programs aimed at improving living standards of the population.
