The Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy will be established in the Murmansk Region. This was announced today, opening the operational meeting, said the Governor Andrey Chibis.
"The key task of the Ministry is not just to consolidate the leadership of the Murmansk Region, which was noted at the final meeting of the Commission for the development of the Arctic under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Petrovich Trutnev, but to achieve very clear coordinated work to increase the number of investors, the volume of investments in the economy of the Murmansk region-together with the Development Corporation and the TOP "Capital of the Arctic". And, of course, the most important thing is to create new highly qualified jobs so that our young people see the future, " the head of the region said.
The Governor explained that the new department will be formed by joining the Ministry of Investment, Business Development and Fisheries to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Murmansk Region. The new structure will be headed by Tatyana Russkova, the curator will be Deputy Governor Olga Kuznetsova.
