The Government of the Murmansk Region and the RWB have entered into partnership agreements providing for the launch of a project to implement demographic initiatives aimed at supporting families, motherhood and childhood, as well as the implementation of an investment project to build a sorting center. The relevant agreements were signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum between the government of the region, the company and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic in the presence of Alexei Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
The agreements were signed by Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, Tatiana Kim, founder of Wildberries, head of RWB, and Kirill Kamenev, Deputy General Director for Investment Promotion at KRDV.
"The development of modern logistics infrastructure in the Arctic has a direct impact on the quality of life of people and the economy of the northern regions. This is a contribution to increasing the availability of goods for residents of the Far North, both in terms of delivery time, assortment, and cost. At the same time, the development of online retail opens up additional opportunities for Arctic entrepreneurs, who get an additional opportunity to expand the product sales market. The creation of a sorting center in the Murmansk Region is another step towards the formation of a modern transport and logistics network in the Russian Arctic," commented Alexey Chekunkov.
"We strive to ensure that every family in our region feels supported every day – from the moment the child is planning to the end of school. The integrated project "In the North – baby" is already forming an entire ecosystem of care. At the birth of the first child, the mother receives over one million rubles – this is the maternity capital and the regional payment "mom's salary". In addition, there is a bag for the hospital and a gift for the newborn. Our partnership with RWB is especially valuable – the company really focuses on the real needs of people. Together we will develop a specific action plan for families and begin its implementation next year," said Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region.
As part of the partnership, the company also plans to build a high-tech sorting center in the region with an area of more than 20 thousand square meters.m. The project is planned to be implemented with the involvement of support measures for residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The total investment in the project will amount to more than 1 billion rubles, 500 jobs will be created.
"RWB is one of the leaders of online retail in the country. With the support of the KRDV, the company continues to strengthen its presence in the Far East and the Arctic. As a resident of the Territory of advanced development (TOP), construction and design of logistics facilities in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Amur and Sakhalin regions are underway. In addition, the first stage of the logistics center in Vladivostok is already operating. A project is being implemented in the Arkhangelsk Region as part of the Arctic Zone regime of the Russian Federation (AZRF). In 2025, similar agreements on investment projects in the Republic of Buryatia and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were signed on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Murmansk Region will become the eighth region of the company's presence in the Far East and the Arctic. The construction of new sorting and distribution centers allows regional businesses to reach the federal level, and local residents to receive orders in a short time," commented Kirill Kamenev.
"The Murmansk Region is a reliable partner with whom we have not only business relationships, but also truly human projects. The construction of the sorting center is an investment in speed, accessibility of goods and new opportunities for every resident of the Arctic. At the same time, we are launching a demographic project aimed at directly supporting family initiatives in the region. For us, this is not a formality, but a real contribution to the support of people who make life better in the North every day. We highly appreciate the support of Governor Andrey Vladimirovich Chibis and are confident that the combination of technological development, social initiatives and logistical investments will create a powerful synergistic effect for the entire region. And most importantly, today it helps to change people's quality of life for the better," said Tatiana Kim, founder of Wildberries and head of RWB.
