Today, the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis will hold the first meeting of the Working Group on Ensuring transport, logistics and socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The event will be held at the site of the Center for the Construction of Large-capacity offshore structures of NOVATEK-Murmansk in the village of Belokamenka.
The group was created on behalf of the President of Russia in 2022, it included all the heads of the regions of the Arctic zone, the chairman is the Governor of the Murmansk region.
Its goal is to develop the transport, logistics and economic potential of the Russian Arctic, as well as to improve the quality of life of people living and working in the territory of the Russian Arctic.
During the event, Alexey Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, will make a report on measures to ensure accelerated socio-economic development of the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The participants will also discuss the development of the Northern Sea Route until 2035, measures for the development of science and higher education in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and other issues.
The event will be attended by representatives of federal agencies, heads of regions, representatives of the Federation Council and the State Duma, heads of companies and organizations of the country working for the sustainable development of the territories of the AZ of the Russian Federation.
